My iCloud email appears twice on the mail app on my Mac

Why does this happen? I have 2x the notifications. When I delete an email from 1 inbox it automatically deletes it from the other too. I don't have this issue on my iPhone.

I am on macOS Monterey 12.6 but I've had this issue even when my mac was up to date. Please share a solution, this really annoys me.

Tried on my Macbook Air, the same thing happens... The only place it's not happening it's on my iOS devices. Seems like a bug, anybody is getting this issue? Thanks.

Mail sent to my Icloud shows up in Gmail inbox Greetings, I am using mac mail for both my icloud email address as well as my gmail. I am finding many duplicates and most often when I open my specific gmail inbox I see a new email. When I click on my name for the address to reveal what email address the email was sent to, it shows as the mail was sent to my icloud email, yet it appears in my gmail inbox. I keep these separate for a couple of reasons. My icloud is generally communication between family and friends and I use the gmail for mailing list, sales solicitations and that type of general junk mail. It is very frustrating almost as if the gmail is intercepting my icloud emails and putting them in the gmail inbox. I have searched for some sort of forwarding I may have turned on or some type of sync and I cannot find anything. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you

You will notice that the label at the top of the list says Favorites. This is an alias. It is a mailbox to which your mail is pointed from the real mailbox further down the list - in your example your iCloud In Box.

You have only one instance of the email itself. The Mail app is simply providing another way to view that email.

I don't know what you're trying to say. I have not added any email to my favorites. I just added iCloud to favourites and now it looks like this. I can remove it any time.
