SIM card given to other family member, is there a way to separate messages?

Hi!

I have given a SIM card - previously used by my mom - to my kid. Now if I add the corresponding phone number to my kid's contact card on my phone, the messages exchanged with my mom will be shown as my son's. Is there a way to tag those messages with my mom's apple ID, instead of the phone number, so that I can keep the message streams from the two people separate?

Thank you in advance,

Attila

No.

Your kids s messages should all be at the top if you deregistered mom's phone properly...

Make sure Mom's phone and your kid's phones both do this...

Start with mom's...

Set up imessage and facetime after change of number.

Settings, Messages, Turn off iMessage

Settings, Face Time, Turn off Face Time

Restart the phone.

Settings, Messages, Turn on iMessage, SMS, MMS

Settings, Messages, send & Receive, select your number which should now be there.

Settings, Face Time, Turn on Face Time
