Every time I try to take a photo with my back camera, it switches to a poorer quality lens than the one I’m trying to take a photo with. Half of my photos are terrible quality. Camera lock under the video section solved the issue for videos, but how do I fix it for pictures. Please please please put this in one of the updates.

I actually figured this out this morning. The work around for me is to toggle macro control on in the camera settings and as soon as I see the camera switch over, I click the yellow flower icon in the bottom left corner to turn it off. Once I’ve done this, I go to camera settings -> preserve settings -> toggle on macro control. It seems to have fixed the issue for me!

Your iPhone will automatically switch to macro when the subject is close enough. to avoid this, take the picture farther away.
This happens whether I’m trying to take a photo of something close up or far away - it’s unavoidable
