What is this new "No Cell Coverage" app I see in the Battery area for iOS 16?

Whatever it is, it's CRUSHING my battery to death. Almost 20%! I never saw this a single time before iOS 16. I know where I live my coverage isn't great, but I've always used ATT Wi-Fi calling (Almost 4 years now with seeing this icon).

When your phone fails to detect a cellular network it increases its output power in steps in the hope of finding a more distant network. If it reaches maximum power and fails, it gives up for several minutes, then tries again. But each try uses a huge amount of power, about 1,000 milliwatt-seconds. If it continues never finding a network this will add up quickly. So if you know you have no cellular network connection put the phone in Airplane Mode, then turn on Wi-Fi. This will stop it trying to find a network.
