imovie

Hi

I have managed in the past to layer an audio recording and a piece of music in imovie for a youtube meditation but today it's not letting me. They can only back to back. Any ideas? TIA

If you put a black background, or any video clip, in the upper timeline you should be able to stack audio clips like this:

Are you saying that you can no longer do the above?

Again, it would help if you could post a screen shot.

Hi, smellymelly1977,

When iMovie suddenly starts acting unexpectly it often is because a preference went wrong. Try deleting/resetting preferences and see if that cures the problem.

To delete/reset preferences, open iMovie while holding down the Option and Command keys and selecting to delete preferences in the box that appears. iMovie will open in a new blank library. Return to your old library to get back to your projects. Deleting preferences is a safe procedure and will not cause any loss of data or disruption to your projects. After deleting preferences, shut down and reboot. Then open iMovie and see if your issue is resolved.

If no success, it would help if you could post a screen shot of what you are seeing in your project screen timeline.
