Hello tiffy34,

Thanks for posting in the Apple Support Communities, and congratulations on your new iPhone!

We understand you're curious when you should transfer the SIM to your iPhone, right? If you're using an eSIM only iPhone, this typically occurs after the Quick Start screen on your iPhone.

For additional information on moving from Android to iPhone, check out the following information. If you have an iPhone that takes the same size SIM, confirm you can switch it to your iPhone with your carrier first, then you can do so once your information transfers over.

Move from Android to iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

Get started on your Apple device

Turn on your new Apple device and place it near your Android device.

On your Apple device, follow the onscreen setup instructions.

On the Quick Start screen, tap Set Up Manually, then continue to follow the onscreen instructions. You might be asked to activate your eSIM.

Let us know if you have any additional questions.
