Apple ID PW Reset

Is there anyway to get around the ridiculous "waiting period" when resetting my apple ID password?? I am EXTREMELY disappointed with how support has handled this issue. I waited my 24 hrs...when I hit 26 hrs I called support back to say I didn't receive my email. She says let's check the status. Well what we actually did was go through the PW reset again...which started my 24 hours over again!!! Then the last thing they told me was it could take up to 7 days...I can't believe there isn't a way to expedite this.
