Why did my iPhone 14 screen go black?

My new iPhone 14pro max has a black screen this morning following its regular overnight charge. I have tried the reset and it is now plugged in via a cord hoping this will work. Anyone else had this issue?

I saw a tutorial ; press the up volume button once then the down volume once and hold the power button on the right side until you see the Apple logo. This resets the iPhone. It’s a firmware bug. I hope Apple fixes this soon. I had a mini melt down

UPDATE

Hey guys,

I’ve brought in my phone with the same issues. A brand new phone which had the black screen of death when I FIRST set it up.

@Apple didn’t do **** all. When I sent my phone away to get it fixed with them, I received it back and same thing happened AGAIN immediately.

i didn’t buy my phone from the Apple Store, so I sent it back to my phone provider and they again, sent it away to fix. Fortunately, this time receiving it back from them my phone hasn’t had the issue at all and it’s been 2 months.

You have to trust me with this one, all you do is that you try pressing the volume up button once then the volume down button once then keep pressing the power button for 30 seconds or longer and if that doesn’t work then plug your phone to the charger and leave it for 10 minutes or even 15 minutes and it’ll turn on by itself

And none of these fixes work for me and yes, it did happen after I had my phone on charge for a while I had this happen two months ago, and the button resets worked, but this time nothing is working even asking Siri to turn up the brightness what she said she did but of course it's still a black screen I've held the side button for as long as two minutes nothing happens

Yes, it’s a real pain. It’s happened 5 times now. The first two times I did a factory reset with a back up phone then spent 45 minutes at T-Mobile since the garbage eSIM is the only option. It has happened three times this week I placed the screen face down on my night stand after pressing snooze then the screen came back. I wish I just got another 13 pro max after gifting my sister with my first one.

This has happened a couple of times with my iPhone 14 Max Pro. I always keep the iOS up to date and there has been at least one, if not two updates between the first and second incidents, so whatever the cause, it either has not been resolved in the most recent update, or is down to some other issue with the firmware or hardware.

On both occasions, the BSOD occurred whilst charging overnight via cable and on both occasions, the issue was resolved by the - quick squeeze volume Up, quick squeeze volume Down and long squeeze on the right side button until the Apple logo appears - technique, though it took several attempts on the second occasion. Timing the squeezes seems to be critical, with ‘quick’ the operative word.

I had a similar experience when I woke up this morning. At first, I couldn't comprehend what was happening, but I'm relieved to know it's not just me. I went to search for my Apple Watch, which happened to be dead. As soon as I plugged it in and the watch turned on, my phone also decided to come to life.

Now the question is why hasn't Apple fixed this black screen of death issue?

Why did my iPhone 14 screen go black?
