The Apple Pencil is reportedly designed to provide approximately 12 hours of continuous use. However, consider that the Pencil itself is “active” (and therefore consuming battery power) whenever motion is detected. So, if you are carrying a Pencil around with you - and the Pencil is not docked with its host iPad - it will be slowly depleting its battery.
