Hey, I just got mine to work on my Samsung (was having this problem too - no sound or very choppy sound if it did manage to come through for a bit) by changing the audio format from Bitstream to PCM. Hope it works for others.

I had the exact same problem, “no audio at all from AirPods Pro 2 but a successful connection to TV” and discovered this thread. My TV would show connection to the AirPods, but no sound, despite the headphone volume showing 50% on the TV. For me, a few posts within this thread led me to my resolution after a lot of self trial and error.

Although, I am connecting to a Phillips smart Tv, and not a Samsung model.Hopefully though, as my symptoms were identical to others here, the below summary of actions taken that may help others experiencing the same issue.

1) The first thing I noticed before researching was that when first connecting to the TV the AirPods would connect with the “ - Find my” suffix as part of the device name. I just assumed that was just what was being broadcast by the AirPods Pro 2 to a non Apple device when connecting to them. I think it is a separate transmission broadcast on a different frequency that overshadows the audio connection. Earlier in this thread it is mentioned that turning off the “Find my” setting in the AirPods settings and then reconnecting them to the TV helps. I did this, and yes I able to get the TV connected to the AirPods Pro without the “Find my” suffix.

I did this but still no sound! My TV volume was still showing 50% headphone volume.

2) Further on in this thread it’s mentioned about lowering the volume slider on the TV to zero and back up again to get the sound. So I tried this but still nothing.

3) Then, again mentioned further above in the thread was about the Airpod volume itself via the stem. I tried this by moving up slightly and heard something very low so I thought I’m onto something here! I then tried increasing the volume on the TV via the remote, and although it increased on the slider, it didn’t increase the volume in my ears and still very quiet sound! So I continued with the slider volume on the stem of the AirPod itself. I did it about 4 or 5 times then got to a significantly increased volume. I then had to turn down the TV slider volume as it was too loud!! My TV goes to 60, and I’ve got in on 15, so only 25% volume which is adequate. AirPods volume is at maximum on the stem.

It appears that the Airpod volume defaults to zero when connected to a non Apple device, I assume for safety reasons. It is also independently adjustable from the TV headphone volume itself, i.e. both the AirPods and the TV volume can be adjusted to adjust overall headphone volume (in my case at least with my TV).

It has worked flawlessly for me since, no drops or deterioration, I can pause and restart play with audio fine, I can change sources without issue.

In summary do the following:-

1) Disable “Find my” setting to ensure correct device pairs to TV. Name shown should match name in Airpod settings on iPhone.

2) Ensure TV headphone audio volume is above Zero.

3) Increase the Airpod volume slider on the stem by sliding upwards a few times. Then adjust TV slider to suit.

I would like to say a big thanks to the other contributors on this thread that led me to work out what was going on in my individual case. Without them I would not have solved this! I can now enjoy the football in bed without disturbing my wife!

Hope this helps at least one other person with their issues. Good luck.

SOLUTION!!! (From another thread I found — thank you to the original poster 🙌🏼)

When connecting the airpods to the TV, they have a built in volume which is disconnected to the TV volume, and this defaults itself to minimum hence seeming like there's no sound coming through.

If you use the new airpods, and using the side of them increase the airpod volume directly (stroking the stem upwards) you will solve the problem!

Hello Everyone.

Finally found the fix for audio getting disconnected from Samsung Smart TV while using Airpods Pro 2 .

Issue:

Airpods Pro 2 was getting disconnected / no audio ( shows still audio in Airpods in TV ) but no sound when i tap on any forward /seek/ backward / next / skip buttons in any smart TV applications / watching movies in Youtube app / iptv app / netflix or anything. Airpod Pro 1st generation have no any issues.

Fix / Workaround.

  1. First remove all connected Airpods from list ( Generation 2 )

2 .Go to Samsung TV settings & reconnect/pair Airpods one more time. [ Problem will be still there until you completes next steps].

3.Go to TV settings

4.Go to Audio Settings

5.Go to Expert Settings / Advanced Settings

  1. Change Audio Mode from Auto to PCIM . [ This is the hack ]

Check issue is fixed or not . For me this worked perfect . Waited 1 year to find the solution. Nothing else works.

I just got a pair of AirPods Pro Gen 2 yesterday for my husband’s birthday. We were all excited and tried connecting it to our Samsung Q65AB 55 TV and we got the AirPods connected but no sound. After googling and some trials and errors finally today we got the sound on the AirPods after connecting to the Samsung TV.

What I did was:

  1. Changed the Digital Output Audio Format of my Samsung TV from Auto to PCM. Go to your Samsung TV setting > Sound > Expert Setting > Digital Output Audio Format > change from auto to PCM
  2. Updated my iPhone 14 pro max IOS to 16.2
  3. Lastly connected the fully charged AirPods Pro gen 2 to my iPhone and got the AirPods firmware updated from 5A577 to 5A5B

Yes we got the sound on the TV but it was not perfect, the volume control on the AirPods wasn’t very well as compared to when connected to the iPhone.

You may want to try the above and good luck !!!

I have found a solution to this problem that is working for me.

I got Airpod Pro 2 earbuds for Christmas and have had the same issue as everyone else with them glitching when connected to a Hisense TV and then, when I disconnected and re-paired them with the TV, I had no sound at all coming from them.

After trying every fix I could find, including doing a factory reset, I stumbled across a solution that works for me. I pressed the menu button on the TV remote and saw a setting for 'HEADPHONE VOLUME'. I turned that volume down to zero and then back up again and I had perfect sound through my Airpods.

Note: this has to be the 'headphone volume', not the television volume or the volume on any connected playing devices (like Chromecast).

Since doing that, sound has glitched out a few times and I've used that same fix each time and the Airpods work again.

I hope that helps someone else.

[SOLUTION]

I believe I have found a solution. Here is the process.

  1. Go to the sound menu
  2. Sound output
  3. Bluetooth speaker list
  4. Disconnect AirPods
  5. Reconnect

If that doesn’t work try this. This what I did before hand. And then these previous steps work. The following steps also removed the “find my” bit from the device name. Open the menu and follow these steps:

General > External Device manager > Disable Anynet+ (HDMI)

Then from the External device manager menu go to Device connect manager. Go to device list. Find your Aidpods in the list and delete it from the list. (The check wouldn’t appeare for me but the delete options become available when you select it)

Now go to the Bluetooth speaker list. Your AirPods should still be there. Delete your AirPods again. Pair your device. It should now come up with your AirPods name minus the “find my”. Now steps 1-5 should work.

I solved my problem by updating my Airpods Pro Gen 2 to Firmware Vsn 5B58 and problem with Samsung TV is fixed. I have Samsung QN65QN9DAAFXZA. The Airpods were delivered with Firmware 5A374 - which does NOT work at all - Airpods connect and "appear" to work except there is no sound on any station. I am not sure when this 5B58 was released but it solves my problem.

I dont know if its a coincidence but I disabled the find my function on the AirPods P2 and works fine with my Samsung 4k TV where as before was connecting but no sound,,,,I wish to thank a fellow poster here somewhere who mentioned the 'find my' using a bandwidth which may interfere as this solved it for me (at least until hopefully apple sorts this as I want the functions all working which was paid for), thanks again

Ok found the solution. Try this. So I have a Samsung S95c TV. I had the sound problem, my AirPod pro gen 2 were working, tried connecting some AirPods as well, even since Arctis headphones. No audio. Best solution. Delete all Bluetooth devices. Power down the connect box. Reconnect, power up tv and pair sound device. This is NOT an Apple issue. This works, totally.
