I just got a pair of AirPods Pro Gen 2 yesterday for my husband’s birthday. We were all excited and tried connecting it to our Samsung Q65AB 55 TV and we got the AirPods connected but no sound. After googling and some trials and errors finally today we got the sound on the AirPods after connecting to the Samsung TV.

What I did was:

  1. Changed the Digital Output Audio Format of my Samsung TV from Auto to PCM. Go to your Samsung TV setting > Sound > Expert Setting > Digital Output Audio Format > change from auto to PCM
  2. Updated my iPhone 14 pro max IOS to 16.2
  3. Lastly connected the fully charged AirPods Pro gen 2 to my iPhone and got the AirPods firmware updated from 5A577 to 5A5B

Yes we got the sound on the TV but it was not perfect, the volume control on the AirPods wasn’t very well as compared to when connected to the iPhone.

You may want to try the above and good luck !!!

SOLUTION: Delete Airpods PRO 2 from Samsung's TV bluetooth list ,re-pair it!

The problem lies with the "VOLUME" ,Airpods for some reason automatically put the VOLUME to 0

so the ONLY thing you have to do is swipe up with your finger on one of your Airpods in your ears ,keep doing it until the volume goes up then turn TV's volume up with the remote controller!

NOTE: Make sure both your TV and Airpods are up to date, just in case.!

AirPods Pro 2: No Sound with Samsung TV

Experiencing static or silence instead of sound when using your AirPods Pro 2 with a Samsung TV? The culprit could be Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) or Adaptive Transparency.

Here’s the fix:

  1. Connect your AirPods Pro 2 to your phone.
  2. Turn off Noise Cancellation and Adaptive Transparency.
  3. Reconnect your AirPods to the TV.

That’s it! Your AirPods should now play audio from the TV perfectly.

Alternative Solutions:

  • Disconnect and connect to TV.
  • Adjust the volume via the touch control feature on the stem of the AirPods.
  • Perform factory reset on AirPods.

Folks I fixed it no prob for the last six months

PCM mode is what you need to pick

I had this problem AirPod 2 not working w Bluetooth on Samsung TV very intermittent, sketchy or not working

for about seven months and then the Samsung authorized dealer. I bought the TV from told me to make sure the TV was in PCM audio mode

not auto mode

and I have not had a problem for two months leaving it in PCM audio mode.

Same problem here as with 90%+ of others experiencing this problem.

I purchased my AirPods Pro 2 from an Apple retail store 2 weeks ago and purchased an additional pair for my daughter from a popular online retail store in which Apple have their own store page within. Admittedly I was waiting to test my daughter’s AirPods Pro 2 and they have the same issue, which is no surprise when seeing this thread.

The problem is as has been mentioned many times. Loosing the sound (the audio stream that is) when pausing and then resuming playback of video; it may not happen on the first time you pause, but it will certainly happen soon after in subsequent pauses and resumes. Also when forwarding/rewinding playback of a stream and then resuming normal playback. Also merely watching YouTube videos and refraining from pausing or fast-forwarding/rewinding in an attempt to avoid the bug from occurring becomes utterly futile as the countless YouTube ads will often invoke the glitchy AirPods Pro 2 sound stream loss issue. Changing the source channel, ie. from say one streaming service provider to another, or to the TV’s freeview channels also invokes the issue. There’s literally no escape from the problem.

Admittedly I too had found out that the temporary fix was to change the output source from AirPods Pro 2, to the TV’s Speakers and then back to the AirPods Pro 2 again. However it really is only temporary, for the minute you pause the video to attend to something, or rewind something you’ve missed or want to watch a scheduled reminder of a TV show, then your in trouble again as you have to keep doing the temporary fix again. Worse still if your watching a YouTube video with several ads contained within it, then I dont have to tell you how fatiguing it becomes doing the temporary fix procedure several times during just one video alone.

I must point out that sometimes it’s sound loss and sometimes the sound becomes broken-up and crackly, which then eventually becomes altogether lost.

I had done everything conceivably possible, which included just about everything that has been mentioned so far in it’s entirety - except turning the attached AirPods Pro 2’s volume down to zero on the TV setting and then turning it all the way back up, however this also proved ineffective.

Also as with what many others have reported; I too had no problem of this kind with other AirPod models. My AirPods gen 2 and AirPods gen 3 never lost the audio stream when using with the same TV unit. Even my ancient Bluetooth pendant I own (of many years old) in which you plug-in wired earphones of your choice never has its audio stream lost.

Its a shocking issue to say the least and left further exacerbated in disbelieve that after much time the problem ‘still’ persists.

Bluetooth is a certain wireless TX/RX standard which the AirPods Pro 2 have adopted (Bluetooth v5.3 I believe, unless mistaken) in which latter versions are backward compliant to older versions. However the AirPods Pro 2 don’t appear to be fully nor properly compliant to that standard it has embraced with the existence of this enjoyment-breaking issue.

AirPods pro 2nd gen did not connect to samsung tv

Had to disconnect the soundbar (sonos) to kind of get them to work

paired airpods

set digital output to pcm

then selected sound output airpods

Changing channel, pausing a movie causes the sound to disappear and you have to unpair and re-pair to get it going again.

in short its a compatibility issue - apple engineering doing substandard, sloppy work.

why has this not been fixed?

why are consumers not told that they will only work properly with an apple tv?

Annoying and too expensive to be so limited

Ok found the solution. Try this. So I have a Samsung S95c TV. I had the sound problem, my AirPod pro gen 2 were working, tried connecting some AirPods as well, even since Arctis headphones. No audio. Best solution. Delete all Bluetooth devices. Power down the connect box. Reconnect, power up tv and pair sound device. This is NOT an Apple issue. This works, totally.

Hey guys, so anybody not having an audio come through their AirPods when connected to a Samsung TV I accidentally fell on a quick fix. This is going to sound crazy, but mine used to connect normally and then all Sunday would connect with no audio by accident I touch the AirPod and it just seems that sometimes, it sends the volume all the way down just try to swipe up on your AirPod and turn the volume up and voilà I had audio again

This is a Samsung issue not an Apple issue. Brand new Samsung the frame TV purchased one month ago. Air pods worked perfectly until 2 days ago. Tried every suggestion on this board and nothing worked. Then tried to connect to my Bose mini sound link and had exact same issue. Samsung TV says it paired and connected, volume control on TV working and shows the TV controlling the volume of Bluetooth device but no sound whatsoever. Connected my $39.99 Google chromecast which I thought I wouldn't need anymore with a pricey brand new smart tv... AirPods connected beautifully and I now have sound. I guess I'll be contacting Samsung 🙄.
