Apple Pay function not detecting card reader

Hi,

I am having issues with my Apple Pay function. When activating my phone for it by double clicking the left lateral button, my phone advises me to put my card close to the reader but nothing occurs as if the phone or the reader could not detect each other. I have tried to delete and add again my credit card and restart my phone but the problem persists. I was wondering if anybody else had experienced this and any ideas to fix it ?

I’ve got an iPhone 13, 7-8 months old on IOS 15.61 thanks

Ive tried adding the card several times, signed out of my Apple ID and then back in again, restarted iPhone to no avail. Has anyone else had the same problem?
