I can change the button mapping for the controller on the Mac but cannot find a way to change them on iOS devices.


I am sure I I happend upon a way to change button 9 to button 3 for instance, but I can't find it?

iMac 27″ 5K, macOS 12.6

Thanks for posting in Apple Support Communities! To customize the button mapping for a controller connected to your iPhone, follow these steps:

  1. "Go to Settings  > General > Game Controller.
  2. Tap the buttons you want to change.
  3. To customize for a specific app, tap Add App."


This will allow you to set the controls how you want them. Find the above steps and more about using a connected controller here: Connect a game controller to iPhone.
