iphone 12 screen turns purple when exposed to sunlight

Hi, recently I've been noticing my iPhone 12 screen get purple/pink lines across the screen when in the sun. The lines only appear across white backgrounds and when i turn the brightness down, the purple area becomes larger. I have heard this may be something to do with OLED screens but I haven't been able to find a similar case. Is this something normal, or should I get the phone checked out. I purchased the phone new only a few months ago.

Hey there whipsterr,

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities. Just to confirm, do the lines remain on the display in all apps, and after restarting the device with the steps shown below: Restart your iPhone - Apple Support

How to restart your iPhone X, 11, 12, or 13
1. Press and hold either volume button and the side button until the power-off slider appears.
2. Drag the slider, then wait 30 seconds for your device to turn off. If your device is frozen or unresponsive, force restart your device.
3. To turn your device back on, press and hold the side button (on the right side of your iPhone) until you see the Apple logo.

If so, then we would recommend having your iPhone inspected further for possible hardware issues. For help with finding nearby service locations, check out this link here: Get Support - Apple

We hope that's able to help.

Take care!
