Can’t delete text messages in iOS 16.0.2

So I Hear “Outbox” = “Full” But Quickly Thinking “Deletions” When Cellular Is Poor.., Copy Cut And Then Paste Into New “Field Below” Then A Wait For Cellular And Bingo Message Sent Outbox Doesn’t Even Contain Anything You.., Have Already Cleared Your Inbox Messages Send As They Either Would Or Wouldn’t Knowing Outbox But Green Sending Message Status Bar Can And Does Really Help By Really Dictating Each Message\s “Sending” Or “Sent” Status, Green Moving Bar Means “Cellular-Sending” Whereas “Halted Status Bar” Means A Lag Thus Slightly Delayed, They ie “Maintenance Crews” Are Constantly ”On” With Work-Flow-Jobs So The Masts And Aerials Sites Are Running At Peak ie Tip-Top Conditions Of Performance For Us Is What You Hopefully See Because It Is What It Is Ya’ll.

I have conversations that I would like to delete from people I don’t talk to anymore, or things I just don’t want to see. Or things that are just taking up storage. But I’ll try to delete it and it just doesn’t work. It’s very frustrating cause it does work on my computer

in the imessage app there will be an edit button in the top left. then there will be a drop-down menu that will have recently deleted at the bottom of the drop-down. then select the messages you want to delete and hit delete at the bottom. if you go back to that conversation the messages will be deleted.

Am I the only one that saves every single thing including all rxr’s minus the appt reminders, spam, and stuff like that. Any convo with someone (friend, family, co-worker, enemy etc..) I keep! I dunno, there have been times I something would come up and I would be able to be like “hun do you remember that thing with so & so that happened back in 2011?” And I can screen shot it. Or I’ll lose a picture or link someone sent & can go back if I forgot to save it

So I’ve had the same issue, BUT I do the known workaround with deleting the deleted message and it works….for a day. The next morning the dreaded message is back again glaring back at me. Why oh why??? Weird thing about this message is it says it’s from my own number and time stamped 4-11-1993. No way that’s possible for so many reasons. The message itself is blank when I open it. It’s like Groundhog Day everyday with this dang message!

nope, it's been months....still have to delete the message and then delete the deleted messages, and inevitably the message shows up later that day. I can have the same message reappear up to three times a day. Every morning, it's there, like groundhog day. Annoying!

My phone has been glitching for the past month and I’m a young (14) year old girl so idk how to contact apple unless I go through safari so I ask apple can you please fix this up date or help me get rid of this up date my phone has never acted like this until I got the new update. I can’t delete my photos nor my texts and my phone is OUT of storage please help me

I am trying to remove names off of a group message on my Iphone. Apparently the latest upgrade has changed the ability to remove name. Has this been addressed yet?
