Hinge is making a sound

After an use of around an hour my mac air 2020 makes a little cracking sound when i try to close its lid. Also, sometimes the hinge becomes hard to close. Is it an issue or everyone is facing the same with this model?

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 12.4

No Issue on my M1 MBA and have had it since March 2021.

Has the user attempted to Open or Close the Lid of the computer Holding the Top Left / Right Corner of the Display?

Have seen other users doing this and this type of issue has occurred.

The Design of the Lid to Chassis is so fine that any extra Energy Not Placed in the dead Centre of the Screen, may Warp / Bend the screen just enough to cause this issue

Or work, cause the Screen to Crack

Two experienced Discussions participants have suggested you get Apple Service for this. It sounds like you have a mechanical problem with your Mac. I suggest you follow their advice. Mechanical issues tend to get worse over time, they don't get better on their own. Fixing something like that is not a do-it-yourself job. The hinge of a laptop is complex because it has electrical connections through it between the keyboard and the screen.

One minor variation -- if your computer is older than ~ 5 or 6 years, Apple eventually stops supporting or stocking parts and you could choose instead to go to an Apple Authorized Service Provider. In fact some of those show up when you use the links that the other people have already provided you with.
