MacBook Pro - Can receive emails but cannot send. Please help.

I can receive emails but cannot send. Says SMTP address is inactive. But when I go to manage accounts, it is active. I have no problem sending and receiving emails from my iPhone or iPad. Just my MacBook Pro has the issue.
