Airpods chime has vanished

Has anyone else noticed that the little chime that sounded when AirPods Pro second generation connected to a device is gone? Mine still connect, but the audio confirmation that they are connected is now missing.

Hello Zeitgeist3,

To confirm, are you not hearing the chime that plays from the AirPods when connecting? If not, are you able to hear audio as expected when playing music or watching video content? The reason we ask is to help isolate the issue further. If you're not able to hear any audio although the AirPods are connected, complete the steps listed below. You can also find these steps outlined in the following article as well.

While the article indicates these steps help with sound related issues, they can be helpful in resolving other issues as well. If you're able to hear audio without issue, but unable to hear the chime when the AirPods connect, these steps can also help with that issue.

  1. "Make sure that your charging case is fully charged.
  2. Place both AirPods in your charging case and let them charge for 30 seconds.
  3. Open the charging case near your iPhone or iPad.
  4. Check the charge status on your iPhone or iPad to make sure that each AirPod is charging .Put both AirPods in your ears.
  5. Play audio to test both AirPods.
  6. If an AirPod still isn't working, reset your AirPods or contact Apple Support."

If your left or right AirPod isn't working

Let us know how that goes!
