iPhone dims randomly
why does my iPhone dim down on me randomly? Is there anything I can do to keep this from happening

Visit Adjust the brightness and color temperature on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch and Adjust the screen brightness and color on iPhone to learn about the Auto-Brightness and True Tone features which can be configured to automatically change the brightness or intensity of your screen. Disabling those if active may address the behavior you describe.
