freezing mac

i have macbook pro (13 inch mid 2012), i update it to catalina version 10.15.7 but i have one problem ,

the problem is my mac is too slow and all of the time when i want open the app it is freez and can not running the apps very well,

please guide me to fix my mac

MacBook Pro freezing while streaming YouTube video Do any owners of M1 MacBook Pro 16" know why my machine running Catalina sometimes freezes while streaming a YouTube video and has to be hard rebooted? Does anyone know a fix?
