iPhone camera unknown part

I am having intermittent issues with my camera where when opening the app it is only a black screen and I am unable to take any photos at all. However it’s not like this always!

In General>settings>about: it shows “Camera Unknown Part”. My phone was bought brand new and I have never had it serviced. Do I need to take it in, or should I reset my phone to see if the problem is fixed?

If you bought it brand new directly from Apple, then you should take it back to have it looked at. The support article you came here from should have provided you with that information.
