Addressing Group Text

Hi...a few weeks ago my addressing a group text stopped working. I can send group texts, but I have to type out each name individually. Help! I've tried all the options I found in Goggle and all my settings look correct and match my iPad, which is working fine.

Thank you!

Winbella,

Let’s check a couple more settings on your iPhone. If you go to Settings > Siri & Search > Messages is anything disabled here? If so, let’s enable it and test again.

Also, if you’re able to, does renaming the group change anything. When we suggest that we’re not suggesting you reinvent the name, but even changing a capitalization, spacing, etc then testing and changing it back would help isolate. Name a group text message on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Thanks.

Hey Winbella,,

It sounds like you have plenty of storage space available. Do you use Messages in iCloud? This syncs all your messages across your devices and could resolve this. Go to Settings > Your Name > iCloud and make sure Messages is enabled there on both devices. Restart after that, check the connection on both devices, and see if the issue is resolved.

Hi Winbella,

As an FYI, we had your screenshots removed, as the personal information was not redacted.

OK, did you make any changes to your iPhone, such as updating the iOS?

If so, how much available storage does your iPhone have?

  1. Settings
  2. General
  3. About Available

If it's running low, the update may have needed to removed cached data to be able to update your iPhone.

How iOS and iPadOS optimize storage
If your device is low on storage, it automatically frees up space while installing an app, updating iOS or iPadOS, downloading music, recording videos, and more.

If your iPhone is getting low in available space, this article can help with making some space:

Since the iPadOS 16 hasn't released yet, this would explain why your iPad still has that information available.

Take care!

Hello Winbella,

We want to help with the issue you're having, however it's not exactly clear. Would you provide more details of what you're attempting to do? What actions are you taking and what's the final result you are anticipating?

If the issue is related to naming a group text, are you following the actions provided in Have a group conversation in Messages on iPhone - Apple Support?

Best regards.

Hi again Missy5937

i have reposted the photos and marked out any personal info. I’m not sure how to explain without the visual. The first is from my iPhone. I have a Wordle group and it doesn’t show, but I can send and receive texts from the group, I just have to type each name. The second photo is my iPad and I can text to the Wordle group without reaping each name.

Thank you again,
