My screen is flickering. All of a sudden my screen started flickering with a blue line right off centre.

Hi guys I have done an update and done all the steps to rectify this issue but nothing is working! Any help would be appreciated. I have not dropped the computer at all!

Press Command-Shift-4 and drag a rectangular area including where that blue line appears, to take a screenshot. I expect that the blue line will NOT be in the screenshot, which would indicate a physical issue. Maybe the cable that connects the motherboard to the display needs to be replaced.

Whether it has to do with the fan directly or not, you should have your mac looked at by an authorized repair facility.

The screen issue may be just a faulty cable (easy to repair, but not something one should do at home, at least not for most people), but a fan not working is a very serious issue. At first it may hinder performance as your mac will slow down to prevent heating up too much, but it can ultimately cause your mac to fail to work completely.

(And maybe the failure of the screen cable could caused by, or at least related to, the failure of the fan).
