My phone got the “black screen of death from being overheated one light and my iMessage app has been acting a mess for over a week now.

So for over a week now my IMessages haven’t been sending regardless of my internet and wifi being stable, and updating my phone. So let me explain. One night, I was on my computer on a video call with my boyfriend because my phone was acting very stupid and so it was on the charger while we talked for a couple hours and then I eventually fell asleep. I woke up and my phone was on like I could feel the buttons and when I switched the silencer on and off I could tell it cut on and off but the problem was the screen was black. This has happened before so I just force restarted my phone thinking nothing of it because usually my phone is a little slow afterward but only for an hour or so. Especially my messages. But my messages are slow even after I shut my off, just to power it down. And that’s another problem but it’s whatever. When I open the app, the screen is black for a while. My iMessages won’t send, and whenever I turn my iMessage off to just make my messages send through SMS, I don’t receive messages back. Because my boyfriend and a few friends calling worried and sent screen shots that they sent messages but I never responded hours on end. They were responding but I wasn’t getting anything. But in the pictures you’re about to see I’ll explain what the problem is if you don’t see one.

this is what I see for about 15 seconds before I can see all the messages or people I contact you know before I see my pinned messages and things like that. So now look.

you Can see all the sent message failures because I try and send stuff through iMessage, but nope. So I circled my best friend Génesis’ profile. If you see no problem there , the problem is I pressed on it but it grey’s out for a while before showing our chat. And even after the chat shows look:

it looks like nothing really but I can’t type anything before what’s circled goes away (not that it’s going to send anyways). And what you’re seeing is the “general population” what I see after the black screen and before tapping on a contact. So basically just unnecessary glitching. Not only is it annoying, I can’t get important messages out and I know that everyone can’t talk on the phone when possible because , life. I’ve tried everything. Switching iMessage on and off. Switching my phone on and off. Force restarting my iMessage app. Force restarting my phone. I then even cleared space on my phone and updated to the iOS 16. And while my stuff delivered with iMessage a little while after. It started doing the same thing again. Please I would really like a solution because it’s been going on for almost a week and a half now.

To activate iMessage and FaceTime using your Phone number

First, check to know whether you have an SMS plan enabled at least for One SMS with your carrier. Contact your Carrier (Cellular Service Provider) the agency that issued the SIM to you

If your iPhone is used with a carrier not found in the wireless carrier articles, make sure you can send and receive international SMS. (One SMS Only)

If you can't turn on or sign in to iMessage or FaceTime - Apple ...
