I'm on a three month trial subscription that I intend to cancel at the end of three months (January 01, 2023). If I cancel the subscription now (so I don't forget in January) will I still be able to use the subscription until the end of the three month period?

Canceling the free trial will end it immediately. If you pay for a month and then cancel the subscription it will continue until the end of the paid month.
It should continue to the end of the trial yes, at which point it will end.
