Audio Driver on Macbook Air

So my speakers made a weird wound this evening and then all sound just went. I looked at Output Devices and none are appearing. I can hear sound via AirPods but not without them. Do I need to reinstall a driver of some sort and if so what is it called, where do I find it in order to download it?

Thanks in advance

Troubleshooting Mac Speakers:

AirPods work off of Bluetooth.

AirPods would be seen under Bluetooth in System Information.

So, Reinstall the macOS:

Go Here: How to reinstall macOS from macOS Recovery - Apple SupportImportant: Be certain to create a backup of your Mac prior to all of this. That way, you can have something to restore from the Mac from, should anything go wrong with the reinstall. Once reinstalled, try this once more.
