Preview.app cannot open BMP files

I have a trouble about BMP files.

Sometime before, I could open BMP files with Preview.app. I realized today, however, those files seem not supported. The error message said "The file "xxxx.bmp" could not be opened. It may be damaged or use a file format that Preview doesn't recognize." I do not think that BMP format is unsupported one.

Recent change might be software update, and I do not remember else. Current macOS is now Monterey 12.6 (21G115).

The files can be opened by the other applications, such as Photoshop. Also, another Mac running Mojave can open them well. I wonder whether it is a sort of OS bug, or my environment specific problem. I cannot distinguish them at this moment.

Any advice and information would be helpful.
