Delayed WhatsApp notifications - again

Notifications of WhatsApp messages are delayed any time from 4 to 8 minutes on my iPhone (15.7). I can tell because I also use the macOS WhatsApp application: I see the messages appearing, then my iPhone pings with the notification several minutes later. My son who uses a Samsung Android phone gets notifications instantly.

I checked with WhatsApp support: this looks like a problem that is specific to iOS devices, and is a very common occurrence, without any resolution from WhatsApp's side. Given it only happens on iOs, and does not happen on Android or even on macOS, I can only imagine it is caused by a iOS bug. I also noticed the problem is reported many times in this community, without any resolution.

This essentially means I can no longer trust WhatsApp with my iPhone. This is a pity. It would be nice if someone at Apple actually looked at the problem.
