What is the latest software update for the iwatch 5? I updated my iphone 7, but can't get my iwatch 5 to update. Wondering if there was no update there.

I have restarted both, hooked in to my wifi and bluetooth, but when I go to the watch app to start update, it has me check that my iphone 7 has been updated, and ends there. Sometimes it says there is an error. Do I need to make an appointment for tech support?

to install watchOS 9 one needs an iphone that support ios16 which iphone 7 don't

if you used another iphone to upgrade the watch it would no longer communicate with the iphone 7
