mophie 3-in-1 travel charger with MagSafe isn't charging iphone

I purchased three of these for gifts for the holiday's and shortly after we started using them we all noticed they don't consistently charge the Iphones. The watch/headphones will always charge but I need to unplug the charger and plug it back in for the phone to charge. Do you have any thoughts?
