Downloaded Top Gun Maverick to my MacBook Pro and I cannot play it on my Vizio. I have done everything that has been recommended. Is there a software issue ?

If it works for other (HDR) iTunes Store movies, but not for this particular one, then contact the iTunes Store staff for further investigation.
I don’t have this particular movie in my iTunes Store purchases, so I don’t think any testing on my side would be conclusive.
My smart tv is several years old so I do not have Apple TV app or the AirPlay. I can play all of my other 4k movies without any issues
So … how do you stream movies from your laptop to your Vizio? Do you connect the laptop directly to the TV using an HDMI cable? Or something else?
Correct I just connect my MacBook Pro to my tv with a HDMI cable. I just bought a new cable also
