If my subscription is up, does that mean I can no longer listen to the music I’ve already downloaded?!

If it is music you downloaded from Apple Music, you can only listen to it when you have an active subscription. Apple Music is a subscription service.

I suspect that if Apple did that a lot of people would sign up for one month and spend the month downloading everything possible and then cancel.
