we can not see your computer, or any messages that show up on your display.
For this reason, the language you use to describe what is happening must be VERY precise, and not ambiguous.
Could you please elaborate what you mean when you say "the address is not stable". IP Address stability is generally not requirement for stability.
Hi Grant,
Thank you for the quick reply and my apologies for how vague I was in my initial response was.
I am connecting to a local device over local WiFi (no ISP). I have a solid connection to the local IP address on my iPhone. However, my laptop is having issues with maintaining a connection. I have TG Pro (fan controller) installed on my M1 MacBook Pro and noticed connection drops when temperature for the Wireless Proximity is above 100°.
If there is other information I can give
you that’s helpful, please let me know.
Thanks!
generally speaking, you don't connect to a network, use use the network to provide a connection to a particular endpoint device. You can have LOTS of complexity -- multiple switches, Routers, and access points.
Are you using the same network to connect to the camera as you use to connect to the Internet?
These are locally connected cameras not using internet. I am able to connect to the cameras using my old laptop from 2018 and my iPhone. Only having intermittent issues when using my newer MacBook. I’ll do my best to document the issue better.
Thank you for the help!
100 degrees F is no big deal, that's a little over body temperature.
100 degrees C could indicate a serious hardware problem.
¿which are you seeing?
100°F
connecting from your Mac to your phone, or connecting to a local Network Printer or NAS device, or something else?
Connecting from my Mac to a Mesh Network.
My mesh network is connected to another access point that is mounted to a camera. I am connected to the camera’s settings wirelessly.
Packets going toward the internet are sent to the TOPMOST, working interface shown in:
system preferences > networks
provided the camera has a local address, it may (or may not use the "Switch" portion of your Router, but its data will generally NOT be sent onto the Internet to get there. Your Mac looks around over all its interfaces and can find strictly local devices. I mentioned Network Printers and Network Attached Storage (NAS) as common devices.
Your Mac Discovery Protocol, based on IPv6 to do this process.
IPv6:
System Preferences > Network > Wi-Fi > (advanced) >TCP/IP > IPv6 ... to Link-local only
ON may cause routing activity that interferes with your networking.
OFF will make it hard to find printers and other services on your network.
