I have apple watch 3 series i have two mobil IOS 15.7 and ios 16.01 unable to connect the watch . Need to download the update to open it for pairing . If i cancel the update i can not do the pairing ! Now it is hanging last two days in preparing mode ! And earlier two days to download it !!!

Have you restarted your Apple Watch and iPhone since you first noticed this? Even though it is a simple step it may help:
"Restart Apple Watch
, then drag the Power Off slider to the right.Note: You can’t restart your Apple Watch while it’s charging."

If the issue persists, can you provide a few more details? Are you currently connected to Wi-Fi? Is your Apple Watch on the charger? Also, which iPhones are you attempting to pair your Apple Watch to?

Same issue here. I'm able to pair successfully with a test iPhone on iOS 15.7, but not on my daily iPhone with iOS 16 due to the forced 8.7.1 update.
Once paired on the iOS 15.7 device, if I go to update, it hangs. I've let it go overnight 3 times so far with no joy, sitting on my desk all day, nothing beyond "Preparing".
This update is broke. Plain and simple.
Nope nothing! I spoke to 3 different people at apple. None of them were able to help me. One of them even lied and said apple knows and will have the problem fixed with 72 hours!
I have the same problem. I already restarted the Watch and my iPhone. Also te watch is on its charger and I updated mi iPhone to iOS 16.0.3 and its still stuck on preparing. The iPhone I’m using is a iPhone XR and my watch is a series 3

I am having this problem as well. Apple Watch Series 3 and iPhone XR. It’s super frustrating I’ve called and chatted with Apple and they can’t seem to help me 😭
Same problem here. IPhone XR with watch series 3. I even unpaired it and now it won’t let me pair it until I update it.
Same problem for me, iPhone SE 3 gen running iOS 16.0.3 can't update my apple watch 3 to watchOS 8.7.1 (stuck in preparing phase)

Guys ! Any one fix that issue ! Why no one from apple seeing this issue ?!!! What we shall do for this watch ? They need us to throw it to in-force us to buy new one !!!!!!!
