Car Play no longer works

I have a 2020 Hyundai and. 2019 Ram truck. I have always used apple maps through CarPlay for navigation. Recently both quit working and only have a blank black screen when CarPlay app is opened . Note- calls still come through the system but I need to input on phone to make a call (so much for hands free)

any advice? I used new cable, reset CarPlay, restarted phone , tried different ports, and even disconnected power on truck for 30 minutes- all made no difference
