Siri is not responding correctly

Just updated to 16.0.3, the audio for Siri sounds really “hallow” and bad.

Plus, I wasn’t able to use Siri to schedule an event on my calendar. Siri advises there was a problem with my request, or something along those lines.

Hey there, and welcome to Apple Support Communities RenfroSams,

We can certainly understand your concern and are here to help.

We recommend checking out this link for more information on what to do if you are having issues with Siri.

" Check a few settings on your iPhone to make sure that Siri is set up to listen and respond to your requests.

Check if "Hey Siri" is turned on

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Tap Siri & Search.
  3. From here, make sure the following settings are turned on:
    • Listen for "Hey Siri"
    • Allow Siri When Locked

Set up Siri to recognize your voice

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Tap Siri & Search.
  3. Turn off Listen for "Hey Siri," then turn it back on.
  4. When the Set Up "Hey Siri" screen appears, tap Continue.
  5. Say each command that you see on your screen.
  6. Tap Done.

If Siri stops responding

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Tap Siri & Search.
  3. Tap Siri Responses.
  4. Tap Prefer Spoken Responses to hear Siri speak responses, even when Silent mode is turned on. "

Thank you for the reply, but my issues don’t seem to be settings related. It’s more like some fake version of Siri is running on my phone.

One example, the voice I chose in settings doesn’t match the voice I hear when using Siri.

Another example, when I say “Hey Siri, schedule a meeting,” Siri now asks, what do you want to call this meeting?” That use to never happen.

Also, Siri is timing out often when trying to do something as simple as save a meeting on my calendar. I have to manually type in the meeting, which takes away the biggest advantage I had when using the Siri feature.
