Missing fitness badges

I have upgrades from iPhone 8 to 13. I always backup in the iCloud. I have a iWatch 7.

Today I transferred everything to my new phone (when I turned on the new phone it popped up on my old phone, kept both phones side by side and everything transferred after around half an hour or so).

Then it prompted me to pair my watch to my new phone - all seemed well.

Everything seemed to transfer without issue, but then I noticed the fitness app badges are all missing, but stats are all there? My calendar is still full of workouts. All my health data migrated over.

I’ve read about some people getting stats back after they complete the current months challenge, however mine is to close all 3 rings daily for the whole month; so five got over 2 weeks to find out. Is there anything I can do to get them back quickly?

Hi cajones89,

Thank you for participating in the Apple Support Communities. If your fitness badges didn't transfer to your new iPhone, we recommend checking Settings > Your Name > iCloud and make sure Health is turned on for both your old iPhone and your new one. After that, you'll want to make sure you have a strong Wi-Fi connection and plug your iPhone into charge to allow the data to sync. If you don't use iCloud for Health, then you'll want to make sure you transferred your data to your new iPhone using an encrypted backup on a computer. Encrypted backups include things that regular backups don't. This article explains more about this: About encrypted backups on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

"

Encrypted backups can include information that unencrypted backups don't:

  • Your saved passwords
  • Wi-Fi settings
  • Website history
  • Health data
  • Call history

"

If the issue persists after trying these steps, we recommend contacting Apple Support for further assistance: Contact Apple Support

Take care.

Hello cajones89,

We appreciate you updating us with this information, and you've taken great steps to troubleshoot and isolate this so far.

If you see that the badge is still missing after trying this again, be sure to allow your iPhone to remain connected to Wi-Fi and a charger for a bit. This is to make sure all of the information downloads from iCloud without interruption. Should these badges not return after some time, we would recommend that you contact Apple Support directly to check into this with you in more detail

Have a great day!

Hi Jeff,

Thank you for taking the time to respond.

I already sync everything to iCloud and it backs up every night (I can confirm it had done this). My health data is also selected to update (there are several apps I turn off as I do not need them to backup to iCloud).

Since my message, I re-paired my watch to my old iPhone 8 and wiped the new iPhone 13. All my fitness data then continued from where it left off.

I then forced an update to iCloud and subsequently made a backup to my laptop (not done this since my iPhone 4, and I’ve had a 6s between!).

I then setup the iPhone 13 from the iCloud backup; this has resulted in most of my badges coming down, but I’m still missing 2 limited edition badges and a couple of other things aren’t right (for example it says I’ve done 1 400% move rings whereas my iPhone 8 shows 3. A few other badges also not counting correctly.)

Since then I’ve wiped 13 again and continued with my iPhone 8 today. I have updated that to iOS16 and will try and do the iPhone 13 again tonight or tomorrow. However, I now have my limited edition badges missing again, but everything else is there and correct. I’m hoping the Limited edition badges will return later/tomorrow.

Just frustrating that everything is in iCloud but not coming down correctly, when it really shouldn’t be an issue. Either all or nothing should be the option.

Kind regards,

Alex
