I have now had a chance to start on what you wrote. I clicked on the link you gave 'Recover media from an iPod' and started to follow the instructions. But I did not get very far because early on it says go to 'iTunes > Preferences > Devices (Mac) '. But the problem is, I have an iMac that I have purchased this year with Monterey as the operating system and the chip is Apple M1. And that neither has iTunes on it nor can I install iTunes on it. In its place is installed when purchased 'Music' . So the instruction iTunes > Preferences > Devices (Mac) is just not possible. If I connect my iPod to this mac the iPod classic shows up in the Music app on the iMac, and that shows the music on my iPod classic, but there is no sign of my movies. The iPod shows up as a device on the desktop of my iMac running Monterey. If I double click on the iPod icon it opens, and shows my contacts, my calendar, but there is no sign of my movies. Yet as I wrote before, I know the movies are there because I can connect my iPod to my tv (via the approved adaptor) and I can both see all the movies listed and also play them. So what do I do now?
