HBO Max app not working on iPhone and Macbook, but works on iPad, Windows devices and Smart TV

As the title says.

I sign in via provider, outside US.

So when the option comes up to sign in with provider, I click it.

It shows me my listings available to my area

I select my provider

I sign in with my provider.

However instead of taking me back to HBO Max main page and signed in , it takes me to the create account page. This happens on my iPhone and Macbook as stated in title.

Any help making sense out of this a fix too, would be nice. Thanks

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 12.6

Hi reeshard241,

Thank you for posting in Apple Support Communities! You may need to reach out to the app developer for further assistance. There are a few things you can check in order to troubleshoot this issue:

On your iPhone, you can confirm that there is no update available for the HBO Max app.

  1. Launch the App Store
  2. Tap on your Profile picture in the top right
  3. Scroll down to view available app updates
  4. Tap update next to HBO Max app if available.

You mentioned that you are signing in using a provider but are outside of the US. Are you using a US based provider? You may need to reach to your provider to confirm use of the account outside of the US.

Be sure that both your Mac and your iPhone are up to date running the latest version of the OS.

Hope that helps!
