Screen time requests loading indefinitely in Messages (iPhone 14 Pro/iOS 16.0.x)

When my child sends me a screen time request and I get the message for it, when I open Messages app all the requests are not loaded properly there. I can only see spinners loading indefinitely. I need press Back to go to the home screen of Messages app and then go back into the thread. At this point the screen time requests are loading properly.

Does someone else experience this problem?

Hello TPOTOAP,

After reviewing your post, it seems like the Screen Time requests are received, but they do not load in Messages on the iPhone.

One thing you could do is to turn off Screen Time and then set up Screen Time again and see if the issue persists.

Do any other apps have issues using loading features with Screen Time?

Which version of iOS is the iPhone using?

Thanks mario49

I turned Screen time off and then reset it but this did not solve the problem. I noticed that the requests do not load in Messages only if I directly go to the thread from the shortcut on the home screen when I get the notification.

If I go to the Messages app's home screen (on the list of threads) and the open the thread with the screen request, it loads for me with no issue.

It does not seem to me that the bug is on Screen time itself but looks more like a Messages issue. I don't have any other problem with Screen time on any other app.

Both devices are iPhone 14 Pro/iOS 16.0.3 but I've seen this bug on iOS 16.0.2 as well.

Thanks,
