Apple Watch Series 8 showing up as Series 6.

I have an unusual problem where my new Apple Watch Series 8 is showing up on my Mac (for the option to unlock with Apple Watch) and on Strava runs as a Series 6. Anyone else have this issue?

I set this new watch up by transferring from a Series 5. It's running the latest watchOS version.

If anyone else has this issue, please let me know if/how you fixed it. The only suggestion from Apple Support was to try renaming the watch and restarting it. This changed this:

But it no longer provides the model number as a differentiator. I guess I'll have to see what happens with my next run.
