iPad Air 4th generation, connect external sad card reader

Hi, I’m trying to format a micro Ed card, have bought a C usb card reader, but can’t get the iPad to recognise it. Have downloaded the USB DISK SE APP, but still no joy, advise welcomed please.

If your external storage device requires formatting and/or partitioning, this must be performed using a separate computer; iPad does not provide any facilities to format an external storage device. Most cameras are able to format an SD Card.

To be recognised by iPadOS, the attached USB storage device must be formatted to FAT, FAT32, exFAT, APFS or HFS+ with a single partition. Microsoft NTFS and other proprietary device formatting are not supported.
