There is no "battery" option under my "other modules" in "Dock & Menu Bar" on my macbook.

I cannot find the "battery option" under "other modules". There is only "accessibility shortcuts" and "fast user switching". Someone answered this a while back from another MAC user's question and said "look a little harder" with a screenshot. Well, it's just not there. I can't look any harder. Why is that option not there? I have had the battery icon on my menu bar for 4 years, and suddenly it's gone, and I can't get it back. Can anyone help? I have tried all the suggestions I could find in the forums, and so far nothing has helped.

Figured it out! If anyone else is having this trouble you have to resent the SMC on your computer.

  1. shut down your computer
  2. hold shift-control-option, then while holding the 3 buttons press the power button and hold for 10 seconds
  3. restart your computer

One more thing. I can't even find my battery percentage level at all. It would be nice to have it on my menu bar again, but even if I don't, I can't even find what percentage it is at any given time. My macbook has been failing to wake up when I left the cover, and I suspect the battery is being drained somehow, but I don't know if that is the problem because I don't even know what the percentage is.
