Apple Store couldn’t fix iPad Error 4013 and my son was playing Roblox too!

I know this topic is a ‘last year thing’ on this particular forum, but did anyone ever resolve their issue?… Save their iPad??

My son used his 7th generation iPad for gaming, but we heavily rely on it for his home school curriculum and communication, especially on rainy days. I really expected the usual trusted time one can get out of an Apple device, but his just became a ‘brick’ also while playing Roblox he said. We did take it into the Apple store yesterday after trying the usual fixes and they said that it was definitely a hardware issue (they could not fix it). They said to replace it, it was still $249 to replace exact iPad as well (someone else in this form said that last year). I did drop the change for a replacement 9th generation iPad

I would still like to find a way to revive this machine (again, 7th gen iPad) for myself if possible. Having needed to replace my sons iPad is making us forgo buying two apple watches we wanted this Christmas. So sad. Oh well, first world problems. Still going to donate the little we can/have to spare to our local soup kitchen and animal shelter.

If anyone figured out how this hardware condition can actually be fixed with a software hack(so-to-speak), etc.… I can’t wait to learn it! Thanks everyone!

As you have already received definitive diagnosis from an Apple technician, there really is little left to offer you by way of actionable advice. Hardware faults cannot be fixed with “software hacks”.

Apple does not supply spare parts outside of its Authorised Service Provider (AASP) network - and if already declared as having an unrepairable hardware fault, where (realistically) do you expect to go with your commitment to reviving a dead iPad?

If your iPad when connected to a Windows PC (with iTunes) or Mac computer (with iTunes or Finder - as appropriate for the installed version of macOS), here is the relevant support page for error #4013:

If you see error 9, 4005, 4013, or 4014 when you restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
