Can iPad Air, 6th Generation upgrade to IOS 16

Trying to update my 6th generation iPad Air to 16.0 but update only allows update to 15.7. Is this Apple telling me that they do not support any further updates to my iPad?

Yes, the iPad Air 4 will definitely be compatible. Apple has stated that it will release in October, so their window of time is getting quite short now.

While there is no iPad Air 6, the iPad 6 will be compatible with iOS 16 when it is released later this month.

You are correct. It’s actually 4th generation iPad Air. Any idea when 16.0 will be released for iPads? My iPhone already was updated to 16.
