Is there no way to delete more than 1 message at a time?

Messages has become a giant pain in the butt. I get hundreds of messages I don't want, and I can only delete them one at a time on my MacBook Pro (Monterey 12.6) I can delete any number on my iPhone I can click on "Select Messages" select any number and delete them all. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to interact with the MacBook Pro. Right now on my MacBook Pro I have hundreds of messages which I can only delete, one at a time "file" "delete conversation." I can't select more than one. On my iPhone "All messages" shows only 5 messages. There doesn't seem to be a "messages" section in iCloud which seems like the logical place to be able to control Messages...

as in any App, you can select multiple items (here mails) by using either the shift key or the command key.

If you select one, then press the shift key while selecting another one, all from between are selected.

If you select one, then press the command key, you can select one after the other.

If you press command+A, you select all.

When you selected some, just press the delete key to delete all selected ones.

Do you have iCloud syncing for messages enabled? It won't give you the ability to manage messages from icloud.com but, at least it will cause anything you delete on the phone to also be deleted on your Mac.

If you have iCloud syncing enabled on all of your devices and deleting on one is not deleting them on all messages, something is amiss. You might try signing out of it and signing back in.

Actually, it isn't Mail, it's Messages. I can't select more than one message on my MacBook Pro. I can on my iPhone but. I'm an old timer which is what makes it so frustrating!
