Swipe up to see Notifications?

Notification center is hidden unless you swipe up. On the lock screen I need to automatically and always show push notifications without having to swipe up. This is forcing users to constantly remember to swipe up to check if there are push notifications hidden in the background. This is tedious and wastes time. Previous versions of Iphone were not like this. I have checked many settings without luck, including setting show previews to always. This is a dealbreaker to me and I'm trying to figure out if I should return this recent iphone 14 purchase for an android, so any quick help with be appreciated, thanks guys!
