MBP A1707 Logic Board and Power Button with Touch ID replaced, but not working..

Replace the logic board and Touch ID Power button with finger print ID,, all works but on the Touch Bar the function icons are not working. Touch Bar lights up as normal, and icon sof button(s) changes with different application(s) as required, Scrub Bar working with Music and vids, but again icons are not working when touched, such as volume, mute, ESC, brightness, etc.. Does the Logic Board and Touch ID button need pairing? Finger print ID was also set up on the install and works fine. If there is pairing needed how is that done, and by what means? thank you... I also installed the latest Monterey 12.6,, performed Activity Monitor TouchBarServicer and ControlStrip resets, and icon buttons still do not execute the needed function.

For the TouchID fingerprint functionality to work, the TouchID button and the Logic Board must be paired.

With the 2016 & 2017 models, there is no way to pair them. Even an Apple Store and an Apple Authorized Service Provider have no way of paring them since Apple provides the replacement parts to the AASP as a set already paired. Even with the 2018+ models, there is no way for an end user to pair a Logic Board and TouchID button as it requires an Apple service utility and the part serial numbers for each of those parts must already be on file with Apple which is only possible when Apple provides the parts to an AASP. Even then, a TouchID button cannot be re-paired with another Logic Board.

The TouchID will function as a power on button even if not properly paired. Only the fingerprint recognition feature will not be available if not properly paired.

If you are having issues with the Touchbar strip, then maybe the Touchbar cables are not fully seated to the Logic Board (they can be tricky to seat correctly). Or perhaps one of the Touchbar cables was damaged during the repair. Or maybe, the Logic Board is bad. Usually if the touch functionality of the Touchbar is not registering, then it usually means the Touchbar itself is bad. FYI, there are two Touchbar cables.
