iPhone 13 mini is SIM locked

I bought an unlocked iPhone 13 mini from sam's club US. However when I came to Ghana I tried setting up the phone and when I installed my sim it said sim locked but the phone is supposed to be factory unlocked. Could you check with the imei number to see if the pone is factory locked or unlocked.

You are not talking directly to Apple employees here. To verify that this phone is unlocked, tap on Settings > General > About > Carrier Lock

For an unlocked iPhone, Carrier Lock = No SIM restrictions

If it doesn't say that, then you did not get an unlocked phone.

No, this is a user-to-user technical support site operated by Apple, we can't check anything. In the US the only place that sells unlocked iPhones is Apple. At Sam's their "unlocked" phone will lock to the first carrier you use it with so if you activated it in the US with someone that will be who it is locked to. And their "unlocked" phones can only be activated for the first time in the US.

If the phone is working go to Settings > General > About > Carrier Lock and it will show who it is locked with.
