Why is typing, and correcting errors, so difficult on an iPhone

Voice typing on an iPhone sucks. Typing on an iPhone is torture. They make everything as complicated as possible. If I want the cursor to be somewhere on an android, I tap on the screen and there it is. With an iPhone I hope that I type somewhere close to where I want it and I often just delete backwards a few letters and retype it, because it is so ridiculously difficult to correct voice typing errors on an iPhone. The constant pop-ups of "helpful" actions constantly gets in the way. Why can't the cursor just go where I tap the screen instead of going no telling where, or highlighting something. Why is it so hard to make corrections? I also absolutely hate moving the cursor around with the spacebar. I don't want the "convenience" of moving the cursor with the spacebar. I want to simply tap on the screen to put the cursor where I want it. Get rid of the never ending pop ups when I'm trying to type something. Whoever is in charge of programming this thing seems to have the idea that the more crap on the screen and more convoluted the use of the cursor, the better.
